Today more then ever, you can find substitutes for all types of dairy products. You can find milk, cheese, butter, ice cream, chocolate, sour cream and many other foods dairy free or lactose free. While lactose free products taste a bit different and are usually a bit more expensive its better then nothing (and you won’t get sick!).
Lactose Free Milk
There 2 kind of lactose free milk:Lactaid milk and Soy milk
Lactose Free Milk is the most basic substitute for milk. Most grocery stores have there own lactose free milk brand, but you can also get Lactaid milk (they are basically the same thing)![]()
Lactaid milk is offered in 1% low fat, 2% low fat and fat free. A half-gallon costs roughly $4.19.
Silk is one brand of Soy Milk. Silk offer many flavors of soy milk; including chocolate, vanilla and plain. A 32 fl oz costs roughly $3.19.
